Privacy policy

Location: if you tap "Near me", your browser shares your approximate position with this page so we can sort nearby results. It's used in your browser only and isn't sent to us or stored.

Maps: map images load from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. Fonts load from Google Fonts.

Address search: if you type a street address, it's sent to our server and on to the US Census Bureau's address lookup (or OpenStreetMap's, as a backup) to find its location. We don't store it. Your last search is remembered only in your own browser so the page can show your area next time.

Route planner: when you plan a route, the start and end points are sent to a directions service (OSRM, using OpenStreetMap data) to get the driving route. We don't store them. They appear in the page address so you can share or bookmark the route.

"Is it working?" reports: when you send a report we receive the place, what you found, the date you checked, any optional answers (restrooms, auto-stop air, gas price) and any note you add. If you send it by email, we also see your email address. We use reports only to update listings.

Ads and affiliate links: this site may show ads and use affiliate links (for example, Amazon). Those partners may use cookies to measure clicks and show relevant ads. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Visitor stats: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
